Wonderbolt Can Strike At Randwick For Joseph-Jones

The flashy Joseph-Jones-trained Wonderbolt is right on song for Saturday’s Highway Plate at Randwick.

Formerly with Anthony Cummings, Wonderbolt commenced his latest  campaign for the Canberra stable in a Scone BM77 two weeks ago .

Stable representative Zane Jones says the More Than Ready gelding didn’t enjoy the best of runs at Scone and will be greatly improved off it.

“He won a Goulburn trial following a long layoff and didn’t do a bad job to be beaten 2.9L in the circumstances,” Jones says.

“And he has excellent form-lines for Saturday’s Highway Plate.

“He hasn’t been far away from the likes of Brook Road,  Two Blue and Fell Swoop and looks very well placed at the set weights.

“Koby Jennings keeps the ride and will claim 2kg.

“Wonderbolt is a get-back run-on type who has a good sprint and will enjoy the wide expanses at Randwick.”

Jones says the horse has had joint issues and the stable will be taking it one race at a time.

“He is a striking individual and is ready to show his best.”
