Unanimously dominates in Wagga Town Plate
Talented sprinter Unanimously proved a class above in this afternoon's Wagga Town plate when leading all the way to score with considerable ease.
Having proven a grave disappointed in the Listed Weetwood Handicap last start, Unanimously was back to his best and proved successful in notching up his first victory in over year.
"His run in the Oakleigh Plate put the writing on the wall, I suppose his last start was a blimp on his record but he had excuses there when he didn't handle the cushion track at Toowoomba," Schofield said.
"From the top of the straight he accelerated nicely and found a length or two for me and he was never in doubt from there."
Having been ridden upside down in his last couple of starts, Schofield's decision to press forward on the son of Not A Single Doubt proved a masterstroke when he received an uncontested lead out in front.
"We were comfortable in the lead, we didn't have to burn any petrol from the inside gate and we found the lead quite easily," Schofield said.
"I didn't even really get to work on him too busily in the race.
"In the last furlong or so I didn't even have to use the whip on him."
"It was a very comfortable win."
The clear class runner of the field, Schofield was quick to praise Matthew Dale and his ability to get his stable star back to his best.
"He certainly bounced back to form today," Schofield said
"All credit to Matt [Dale] this horse has been up for a long time and he find some of his best form today so it was not just a good performance from the horse but a fantastic effort from the trainer as well."
Fellow Canberra based trained galloper Vilakazi Street worked home powerfully from the back but was unable to reel in Unanimously finishing three lengths back with the Guy Walter trained Skateboard finishing third.
Having collected the first winner of the day with impressive debutant Jacinta, Dale would go on to take out the last two races with progressive filly Gladius bouncing back to form in the last.
"It was a fantastic day for our team, to collect three winners from just four starters and to take out the feature race it couldn't have gone much better for us," Dale said.
"I've got a great group of owners and it's very pleasing for us to have a day out like today."
