Single Gaze’s Melbourne Program On-Track

Canberra trainer Nick Olive says SINGLE GAZE has pulled up in “fantastic” order following her spring pipe-opener in Melbourne.

Olive said the mare couldn’t get into the Memsie Stakes the way the race was run and her effort was okay under the circumstances.

Single Gaze will step up to the mile in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes at her next start and can race handier.

Single Gaze has remained in Melbourne with stable foreman Billy Owen and Melbourne trainer Ciaron Maher is helping-out during her Melbourne stay.

“Ciaron and his team have been fantastic and I am grateful to them,” Olive says.

“They’ve taken her to the beach a few times and the horse is thriving.”

On the local front, Olive is expecting a bounce from UNDAOAF at Friday’s Canberra meeting.

The Star Witness gelding was last seen on 26 August running fourth to some nice gallopers in a Rosehill Highway.

Undaoaf had won his previous two starts on the Acton.

Olive says FOX TALES is being given an easy time following his near-miss in the Doylo Springtime BB 75 at Wyong on 1 September.

Fox Tale was a big winner at Wagga prior and Olive says he’s tossing up whether to give him a run in a Melbourne mid-week down the track.
