PRD Nationwide Race Day and locals travel interstate
Friday’s race meeting at Thoroughbred Park will see a new client to the sponsor stable. PRD Nationwide (Braddon) will host over 200 guests in their function in the Silks Room from midday. The full days’ events will ensure plenty of business and social networking.
On Saturday Single Gaze, trained by Nick Olive will contest a full field of 14 in an attempt to win back to back Group 1’s at Royal Randwick in Race 6, James Boag’s Premium Australian Oaks over 2400m and jumps from Barrier 9. The race will run at 2:35pm. She will be inducted to Canberra’s Wall of Fame on Friday 22 April for her first Group 1 win.
Other local runners on Saturday who have travelled interstate include the Luke Pepper trained Hill Spy in the (Listed) $100,000 Manihi Classic over 1100m at the South Australian Jockey Club. The race will take place at 3:13pm Adelaide time.
“It’s tough with the Championships on at the moment and he would possibly get too much weight in town so we decided to make the journey to Adelaide” Pepper said. Hill Spy has travelled and settled exceptionally well and previous to training with Luke, the horse has raced anti-clockwise before. “He has raced the Melbourne way for the majority of his career and carries 54.5kg in this particular race. It’s a great lead up for the Wagga Town Plate in 3 weeks time”.
