Perizada Wins For Weston-Nisbet At Warwick Farm

Canberra trainers Ron Weston and John Nisbet recorded their first city winner in partnership when Perizada saluted Wednesday in a Warwick Farm BM 70 (1200m).

Third-up, the 6yo Shaft mare was backed from $7.0 into the $3.90 favourite ridden by Tim Clark.

Nisbet said she deserved the win after recovering from a setback that saw her 18 months in the paddock.

“She’s a really good mare … Eric her owner has been very patient with her and she has repaid him.

“If she didn’t win up here it would have been a tragedy because she is one of the better horses in Canberra.

“She’s a hard going big thing but is a talented horse.”  Clark was delighted with the win.

“I rode quite a lot of winners for Nizzy as an apprentice actually, so it was good to ride a city winner for him.”
