Overdane overdue for a win on synthetic in Australia

Synthetic track specialist Overdane, trained by the Joseph & Jones Racing team was welcomed late last year as an overseas import from Hong Kong.  The gelding has won HK $3.7M ($572,000 AUS) on synthetic tracks overseas and was brought to Canberra to take advantage of the Acton track.

With Canberra holding its second race on the synthetic surface tomorrow, again have the opportunity to perform on a synthetic track on Australian soil.

“He is an absolutely magnificent type and although a seven-year-old has been very well looked after, and he has had great success on the synthetic in Hong Kong” Jones said.  “Regardless of what happens tomorrow, he will head to Darwin for Winter racing after Friday.  The warmer weather and track may suit him to perform better”.

The gelding carries 66.5 kilo with claiming young apprentice Patrick Scorse on board, still looking for his first Canberra win and jumps from an ideal barrier 2.
