Olive Takes Training Honours

The Nick Olive stable continues its charge up the ACT Trainer Premiership table with two winners on Friday’s Canberra seven race program.

Olive saluted with Alba Go Brath ($7) and Her Name Is Rio ($8) and with 11 Canberra wins for the season is now only one success adrift of the Keith Dryden-Scott Collings combo.

Dryden-Collings also delivered a win at the meeting when the favourite And There Is More saluted.

Last year's premier trainer Matt Dale has had considerably fewer runners than the above two, but moved to a clear third (7) when Super Star Bob ($6) won on debut.

None of the leading hoops won on the day and Matt Cahill continues to lead the ACT Jockey Premiership with 11 wins, one ahead of Brendon Ward.

Apprentice Brock Ryan’s win on Her Name Is Rio thrust him to equal third on the jockey table and equal first on the apprentice jockey premiership.

The Canberra Racing Club’s next meeting will be on 20 January — the Sponsors Race Day.
