Canberra Gallopers To Compete In Provincial Championships

Racing NSW has announced that that horses trained in the ACT will be able to race in the Provincial Championships from 2017.

Racing NSW Chief Executive Peter V’landys said incorporating ACT trained horses into the Provincial Championships “will greatly strengthen the series of five races.”

All five Country and Provincial Championships Qualifying races will be run for $150,000 in 2017 — and horses can compete in more than one of the heats if they have not qualified for the final by running first, second or third in another.

The $400,000 Provincial Championships Final will be run at Randwick on 8 April for horses that qualify through the series.
