Joseph Jones Annual Race Day
The Joseph-Jones stable has eight horses nominated for its feature race day at Canberra on Friday.
The Joseph & Jones Racing Annual race day draws hundred’s of stable owners and supporters to a luncheon and an afternoon of racing and festivities in the Thoroughbred Park Function & Convention Centre
Barbara Joseph has been training since 1975 and has been a flag bearer for women in racing.
Her eldest son Paul Jones — who played in the NRL for the Canberra Raiders — obtained his licence to train in late 2009, and the partnership was formed in 2010.
Joseph-Jones are invariably among the winners on their feature day and the progressive Bank On Henry and Chasing Charlie will fly the stable flag in the feature Sprint (Waylie Trees Canberra Flying 1200m).
The day has drawn a strong list of nominations that include the up-and-coming youngsters Fox Tales and Cool In Black from the Nick Olive yard and I’ve Got This for trainer Matt Dale.
The meeting will be run on the course proper and with some rain expected later in the week the track will likely remain in the heavy range.
