LOCALS IN WHITE HOT FORM LEADING UP TO THE JOHN MCGRATH AUTO GROUP BLACK OPAL
The Canberra/Goulburn training partnership of Keith Dryden and Scott Collings and leading Cowra based jockey Mathew Cahill are well positioned for a tilt at the John McGrath Auto Group Black Opal Stakes race meeting after combining to win four races at Canberra last Friday.
Included in the quartet of wins were two of the sub feature races last Friday including The Jack Thomas 3 year old with Vigorish and the TAB Federal with Tougherthantherest. Vigorish is likely to start in the XXXX Gold Canberra Guineas and Tougherthantherest in the National Sprint. Dryden/Collings are also likely to start Handle the Truth in the Black Opal Stake following his second to the unbeaten Sizzling Belle in last Friday’s Affinity Electrical Technologies Lightning Ridge Plate.
Locals are likely to have a strong hand in the Black Opal Stakes with the first four placegetters in the Lightning Ridge Plate likely to start in the Black Opal Stakes. Sizzling Belle trained by Nick Olive is the standout with 3 wins from 3 career starts with Handle the Truth, trained by the Dryden/Collings duo, Dreaming of Biscay, trained by Nick Olive and The Unknown Factor, trained by Gratz Vella likely to be highly competitive on their home track.
