Exciting weekend in store for Olive

The Nick Olive yard is preparing for a full-on weekend of high-level racing.

The Canberra trainer is lining-up Single Gaze in Saturday’s G1 Australian Cup at Flemington where she will compete for $1.5 million in prizemoney.

And on Sunday he is lining-up leading local hope Sizzling Belle in the rich John McGrath Auto Group Black Opal Stakes in Canberra.

Olive says Single Gaze will peak for the Australian Cup where she will again meet Gailo Chop who defeated her into second in the G2 Peter Young Stakes at her last start.

Olive has no doubt Single Gaze has improved again following that run and believes the mare is up to turning the tables.

In what promises to be a terrific Australian Cup, Gailo Chop is currently a $3 favourite with Single Gaze on the second line at $6.  The Taj Mahal, Almandin and Homespun are all currently $9 with Hartnell $11 and Prized Icon $13, next in betting.
