Canberra Gallopers — BMW Day, Rosehill

Canberra will be represented by some if it leading gallopers on BMW Day at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.

Nick Olive has nominated his Group 1 winning Single Gaze for the 2017 Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) Group 3, where she will appreciate the rise in distance.

The Vinery winner has warmed up with runs over unsuitable trips and is expected to be nearing peak for the longer assignment.

Mat Dale has nominated Rocket Commander for both the 2017 Sunline Stakes (1600m) Group 2 at Moonee Valley on Friday night and the 2017 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) Group 2 at Rosehill on Saturday.

The mare comes off a tough heavy track win in the Wenona Girl Group 3 at Randwick on 4 March and relishes wet conditions.

Dale also has Hermosa Beach nominated for Saturday’s 2017 Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m) Group 3 at Rosehill off a commendable 4th in the very strong National Sprint on Black Opal Day in Canberra.

The Barbara Joseph-Paul Jones yard has its well-performed mare Just A Blur nominated for the Benchmark 88 on the Rosehill program coming off a warmer in the National Sprint.

Thursday sees the Provincial Championship Qualifier being run at Kembla Grange where Canberra will be represented by Ziganui (Keith Dryden – Scott Collings), Darts Away (Joseph-Jones) and Maryore (Phillip Courtney).

The other Canberra runners on the day at Trying (Norm Gardner), and Like A Shot (Dryden-Collings).
