The Canberra Racing Club has implemented a complete overhaul of their membership fee structure in a bid to promote membership growth for next season.

Cutting the annual cost of subscription by almost fifty per cent along with similar reductions to both the senior, young member and associate memberships, Canberra Racing Club Chairman Chris Ward highlights the importance of membership growth for the racing industry.

"Club membership is central to the racing industry and it is important that the Club fosters its current membership base and offers attractive membership options for new members," Ward said.

"The changes the committee have made to the pricing structure and the various membership rewards programs make it attractive for anyone with the slightest interest in racing to become a member of the club."

In addition a three year membership option will be provided for just the price of a two year subscription for both the full and senior membership categories.

As part of this new membership fee structure the Canberra Racing Club will also add more value to its current membership providing a number of various incentive programs for its members.

To welcome it's new members the race club will invite all its members to a free afternoon cocktail function during a race meeting in March next year.

Each member will be entitled to a free bottle of wine redeemable at any non-feature race meeting whilst also receiving a free entry into a cash draw conducted at every corresponding race meeting.

Following the large success of this year's Black Opal Stakes and Canberra Cup meeting the race club is now pushing to make it bigger and better next year when providing all members with one free additional ticket to the feature meeting of the season.

The Canberra racing club is also pleased to announce a new members reward programs which will provide members with discounts for purchases made with participating companies along with reciprocal rights to member facilities with participating Clubs throughout the country.

Canberra Racing Club Chief Executive Peter Stubbs is confident the new pricing structure will not only be able to accommodate racing fans but also those who like to attend the races on a social basis.
